Busterkun’s Coachella Was a Full-Circle Moment
If you were at Coachella 2025, chances are you felt the Busterkun effect. The LA-based producer didn’t just perform—he made a statement. From two vibey, late-night sets at the Camping stage to a jaw-dropping show at the legendary Gobi Stage, Busterkun’s presence was impossible to miss. His Gobi set, in particular, was a masterclass in energy and emotion, easily becoming one of the weekend’s most talked-about moments. Coachella was the perfect launchpad for his latest project, showcasing the artistic evolution that fuels his new EP, ‘Different Eyes’.
Seeing the World Through ‘Different Eyes’
On the heels of his Coachella takeover, Busterkun dropped a deeply introspective and sonically rich EP titled ‘Different Eyes’. At the center of Busterkun’s new EP is its lead single and title track, ‘Different Eyes’. The track marks a shift in perspective for the producer. When speaking on the meaning behind the project, he shared: “‘Different Eyes’ is a reflection of how I’ve come to see the world through a new lens—one shaped by growth, change, and deeper awareness. This track captures that shift in perspective, blending emotion and energy to represent the beauty and complexity of transformation. It’s a personal journey told through sound.” The EP pulses with emotion, seamlessly balancing cinematic soundscapes and bass-driven energy, giving listeners both a mirror and a window into his inner world.
Mt. Sierra Collab + A Moment at Desert Sky
One of the EP’s standout moments is ‘Tethered Minds’, a collaboration with rising melodic producer Mt. Sierra. The track trades in flashy drops for rich atmosphere and melodic tension, showing both artists in a more grounded and vulnerable headspace. Their creative chemistry shines without overpowering the rest of the project. It’s a subtle, steady highlight that rewards listeners who stick with the EP start to finish.
Tucked inside the Coachella Camping area, the Desert Sky stage made its debut in 2025 as a camping-exclusive Silent Disco experience. Chris Lake kicked things off on Weekend 1, setting the tone with a high-profile opening night. On Weekend 2, Busterkun took over opening duties, delivering a set packed with fresh material and unreleased tracks. He handed things off to LA locals Athena and our very own Cam Questionmark (Cam.?), as the stage transitioned into full Silent Disco mode. The energy stayed high all night, and between all three sets, it was clear that Desert Sky isn’t just a side-stage—it’s a proving ground for artists making real waves.
Eyes on the Future
There’s no doubt Different Eyes marks a turning point for Busterkun. His Coachella debut set the tone, but the EP tells the full story—one of change, awareness, and a refined sense of self through sound.
It’s not about making noise for the sake of it—it’s about crafting something real. And now that he’s taken that step, the door’s wide open.
Congrats to Busterkun on this release. Hit play on Different Eyes—this is just the beginning.
